Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

The best budget Kenya safari at 8.30 a.m. with a pick up from Airport/Hotel/residence and transfer to the office to depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, via the view-point of the Great Rift Valley and Narok town for lunch. On arrival proceed for a game drive, tracking various animal species and birds with your driver/guide. Dinner and overnight at the Miti Mingi Eco camp.

Day 2: Masai Mara

Today comprises one of the best days of the great Kenya budget safari experience. After breakfast, proceed on a full day of game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on undulating rolling hills scenery.

The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has an extensive road track network that allows for close-range viewing and photography. Break for your picnic lunch beside a hippo pool, looking out for hippos and crocodiles.

Your game viewing will end at 5:00 p.m, where you can go back to the camp to relax or have an optional activity of taking a nature walk with the Masai warriors.  Dinner and overnight at the Miti Mingi Eco Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara- Lake Nakuru 

On a typical Kenya budget safari, start the day with an early morning game drive. Return to the camp for breakfast and depart the Mara region for Nakuru, with lunch en-route.

Enjoy scenic views of Mt. Longonot and Lake Naivasha from afar on the main highway. You will arrive in Lake Nakuru in the evening and check in at the Citymax Hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha

A budget Kenya safari is not complete without visiting Lake Nakuru National Park. After your breakfast, your guide will pick you from the hotel and head to Lake Nakuru National Park for an extensive game drive. This park is a bird lover’s paradise; over 400 species of birds have been recorded here.

The pink flamingos paint the lake shores a vivid pink color, contrasting the black and white stripes of the zebras grazing around the lake. Tree climbing lions can be seen on the tree branches, staring at your safari vehicle. The endangered white and black rhinos, antelopes, giraffes, and gazelles are also found here.

Later we will exit the park and head to Naivasha with lunch en-route. Arriving in the late afternoon, we will check in to our hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at the Taphe Guest Resort.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli national park

Early breakfast, then proceed to the Hell’s Gate National Park. This is the only park where you can take a bicycle ride as you see the animals. You can also do rock climbing here and hiking around the Hell’s Gate Gorges.

At the end of the game drive, you can cap off your safari experience with a boat ride at Lake Naivasha as you marvel at the Hippos. Later we will leave Lake Naivasha and head back to Amboseli National Park, with lunch en-route. Dinner and overnight will be at the Kimana Camp.

Day 6: Amboseli full day

Your Kenya budget safari tour today consists of a full day of game drives in this park. You will be tracking the large numbers of wildlife easily found bathing in the swamps found here. Amboseli National park gives a beautiful safari experience and breathtaking scenery as you watch the elephants and buffalos roam at the base of Mt Kilimanjaro.

Apart from the elephants; you will also encounter cheetahs, Zebras, hyenas, and many others. You will have your picnic lunch in a shade in the park and then continue with the afternoon game-viewing. When the clouds clear off in the evening, you can see the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro. Later you will head back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Amboseli – Nairobi

On the final day of your great Kenya budget safari, you have an early start. Early morning game viewing and then return to the camp for a hot breakfast. Later we will drive back to Nairobi or you can decide to proceed to Mombasa for a beach holiday by road. We will drop you off at Emali to board a bus to Mombasa, or at the airport to get you on a connecting flight to Mombasa.
