8 DAYS AMAZING KENYA SAFARI HOLIDAY

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu

Our 8 days Kenya safari holiday will start in the morning, where we travel by road to Kenya’s northern tourist circuit. This Kenya safari adventure takes you on a scenic drive of the undulated Central Kenya terrain, filled with highland forests, and plantations. You will pass by the equator line, where you can take a few photos as you learn the importance of that imaginary line, geographically. Proceed with your journey to Samburu. Samburu National Park has some of the rare wildlife species found in Kenya, the reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra, and Beisa Oryxes. The landscape here is arid and its home to elephants, buffalos, antelopes, lions, leopards, and cheetahs, may be seen here. Overnight shall be at the Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 2: Samburu National Park

Full day spent in Samburu Game Reserve. The safari tour starts with breakfast at your lodge, and as the sun rises, we head to the bush to explore the arid plains. The giraffes wander through the trees, while the elephants romp on the shallow ends of the Ewaso Ng’iro River. The river is the source of water for Samburu. If you are lucky you can spot the Samburu special five, which are the Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, gerenuk antelope, and the grevy’s zebra. At Shaba Springs, you can also find the endangered Williamson’s lark. These are just some of the unique cast of the Samburu National Park. After your picnic lunch, your game viewing will continue until the evening, where you can go back to the lodge. You can also choose to take a guided nature walk or visit one of the cultural villages and learn about the lifestyle of the Samburu communities.

Day 3: Samburu to Aberdare National Park (Treetops Lodge)

We will have a short morning game drive in Samburu National Park and depart for Aberdares National Park. The park is highly forested and therefore a bit hard to spot animals, on a game drive. However, the Treetops lodge offers you a safari experience like no other, where a few balconies of the hotel can be used to view animals in the nearby waterhole. Sitting at your balcony, you can see the elephants tromp their way to the waterhole, and other rare sightings include Giant Forest Hog, bongo, golden cat, African civet cat, and serval cat. The park forested ravines are also habitat to Black rhinos, spotted hyenas, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs, bushbucks, leopards among many others. This park is also known for its birdlife, with over 250 species recorded here, among them, Plovers, sunbirds, eagles, Jackson’s Francolin, Sparrow hawks, and eagles. A safari at the Aberdares National Park will leave you with unique memories found nowhere else in Kenya. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.

Day 4: Aberdare National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park

Leaving the Aberdare Mountain Ranges behind, we venture through the Kenyan beautiful landscapes to Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is one of the most beautiful parks in East Africa, is known for its large population of bird species as a rhino sanctuary. The black and white rhinos can be found here, and the Rothschild’s giraffe. The park is unique, not only in Kenya but in Africa as well, with the biggest euphorbia forest, yellow acacia woodlands and picturesque landscape. Over 56 species can be found here, including the waterbucks. Upon arrival, you can have a short game drive or just relax in the hotel as you enjoy the cool serene environment. Dinner and overnight shall be at the lodge.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara Game Reserve

We have our breakfast early at the Lodge, we will enjoy an early morning game drive in the Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is widely known as a haven for birds and is a habitat to diverse wildlife, giving a new Kenya safari experience from what you will have seen in the previous days. This alkaline lake is covered by pink flamingos on its shorelines; eagles soar out on the sky, with storks and pelicans wading in the shallow parts of the lake. The endangered black and white rhinos plod out from the bushes, buffalos and giraffes stand against the trees and lions can be seen on the tree branches as well. This park also is a habitat to others like the zebras, antelopes, hyenas, waterbucks among many others. This park provides a unique wildlife safari experience and lifetime memories. Later we will exit the park and start our journey to Masai Mara Game Reserve, where upon arrival; we can have a short game drive-time permitting, before retiring to our accommodation. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 6 & 7: An unforgettable safari experience in Masai Mara Game Reserve

(You have an option to start the day with a balloon safari, at an extra cost, available on pre-arrangement)

Today, you will enjoy extensive morning and afternoon game drives in the most famous game reserve in the world. The excitement for the climax of your safari adventure is comprised of beautiful savannah grass plains, habitat to thousands of wildlife species. The Masai Mara offers an extraordinary safari experience, with plenty of wildlife moving around freely. In the months of July- October, millions of wildebeest migrate to the Masai Mara, looking for greener pastures. Depending on your timing, you may get to witness the unforgettable spectacle of the wildebeest and zebras crossing over at the Mara River, which is infested by crocodiles and hippos ready to feast on the huge herds crossing over. In Masai Mara, you get a close encounter with the wildlife which includes the giraffes, elephants, zebras, rhinos, ostriches, warthogs, wildebeest, buffalos, leopards among others, which form the reserve’s beauty. You will have your picnic lunch beside a hippo pool as they just lie in the water, with just their eyes above the waterline, if lucky you can see some sunbathing. Later continue with game viewing till 1600hrs. After your safari adventure filled day, you can opt to visit a Masai Village to learn more of their traditions and lifestyles and indulge yourself in their traditional dances, with the Masaai warriors.

Day 8: Masai Mara to Nairobi

Early game drive, to see the last of the local cast of Masai Mara wildlife, before going back to the lodge for your breakfast. You will have spent a thrilling eight days on safari and you are guaranteed unique memories of the Kenya safari holiday experience.
