4-Day Mount Kenya Climb via the Naro Moru Route
A four-day Naro Moru route to Point Lenana, crossing forest, moorland and the Vertical Bog before the summit walk and descent.
Programme
Day by day
Day 1
Nairobi to Met Station
Transfer to Naro Moru Park Gate at approximately 2,600 metres, then walk through forest to Met Station at 3,000 metres. Expect 10 kilometres, 3-4 hours and 400 metres of ascent.
Day 2
Met Station to Mackinders Camp
Continue above the forest and cross the Vertical Bog to Mackinders Camp at 4,200 metres. Expect 10 kilometres, 5-6 hours and 1,200 metres of ascent.
Day 3
Mackinders Camp to Point Lenana and Met Station
Start around 2 am for Point Lenana, return to Mackinders Camp for breakfast, then continue to Met Station. Expect 11 kilometres and 8-10 hours.
Day 4
Met Station to Nairobi
Descend approximately 9 kilometres through rainforest to Naro Moru Park Gate and connect with road transport back to Nairobi.
