The Bomas of Kenya

The Bomas of Kenya is a cultural centre in Kenya established to preserve and promote the rich diverse cultural values of various ethnic groups of Kenya and as a learning centre for tourists to learn about the Kenyan culture. There are currently 47 different traditinonal dances collected from different tribes of Kenya. You can also find many souvenirs from the different communities in Kenya.

The Karen Blixen Museum

Karen Blixen Museum was once the centre piece of a farm at the foot of the Ngong Hills owned by Danish Author Karen and her Swedish Husband, Baron Bror von Blixen Fincke. Located 10km from the city centre, the Museum belongs to a different time period in the history of Kenya. The farm that the Danish author of the famed memoir Out of Africa lived on from 1917 to 1931 is now a museum. Much of the 1985 Oscar-winning movie adaptation was shot on the grounds. A tour of the house is an intimate experience — in one corner is a lantern that Blixen hung on her veranda to let her ill-fated lover, English hunter Denys Finch Hatton, know she was home, and his monogrammed books still line the shelves.

Giraffe Centre

The Giraffe Centre was established to focus on the protection of the Rothschild giraffes and has combined these conservation efforts with fun activities for visitors. You can feed the giraffes and even give them a kiss, for an experience that is very enjoyable.
