Your safari adventure takes you to the Mount Kenya rich highland landscape, you will descend on the rugged wild open bushland in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The conservancy comprises of different habitats that are essential for the conservation of wildlife in it. The big five can be found in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This is the only conservancy, where you can find the last two female northern white rhinos, in the world. In Ol Pejeta, you can also find the chimpanzee sanctuary, giving you a surreal experience of the African safari diversity.
Later you will proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park, via the Thomson’s falls, where you have a chance to witness more of the rich diversity of a Kenya safari. The pink flamingos covering Lake Nakuru National Park, welcome you to this stunning lake, which is one of the best in East Africa. There are over 400 species of birds in Lake Nakuru, among them, the grebes, tiny avocets, pelicans, and cormorants. This 8 days Kenya safari starts with a journey to Kenya’s northern tourist circuit. This Kenyan adventure takes you on a scenic drive of the undulated Central Kenya terrain, filled with highland forests, and plantations. You will pass by the equator line, where you can take a few photos as you learn the importance of that imaginary line, geographically. Proceed with your journey to Samburu. Samburu National Park has some of the rare wildlife species found in Kenya, the reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra, and Beisa Oryxes. Leaving the Samburu region, we proceed to the Mount Kenya region, the Aberdares National Park. The park is highly forested and therefore a bit hard to spot animals, on a game drive. Sitting at your balcony, you can see the elephants tromp their way to the waterhole, and other rare sightings include Giant Forest Hog, bongo, golden cat, African civet cat, and serval cat. The park forested ravines are also habitat to Black rhinos, spotted hyenas, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs, bushbucks, leopards among many others. This park is also known for its birdlife, with over 250 species recorded here, among them, Plovers, sunbirds, eagles, Jackson’s Francolin, Sparrow hawks and eagles.
